Rose Solution: Privacy Mandate Compliance
Business Problem

The President's Office of Management and Budget (OMB) mandated that automated systems could no longer display privacy data on web pages, reports or forms, since they could be viewed by the public and identify theft could take place. The agency had reports that were generated through batch, on-line and their data warehouse that displayed this privacy data. Rose was tasked with correcting the problem, and hiding private information from the public and any agency personnel that did not require access to the privacy information in order to perform their duties.

Rose Value Proposition

The Rose team determined that the quickest and most effective solution was to create a cross reference table that would create an account number for existing records, and from which new account numbers would be created as new instances were added to the data. Security was enforced so that only administrative levels could access the privacy data, and all displays of the data, whether in hard copy reports, tapes or displayed on a screen, would display the account number.

Results

The solution was designed, developed, tested and implemented by the Rose team, and brought the agency into compliance with the OMB mandate.
