Job Description
Required Education, Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor’s (BS) Degree in the Sciences and/or an EHS-related field
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Basic knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
• Be able to pass a background check for handling DEA Controlled Substances
• Required certifications: RCRA, DOT, HAZWOPER (24-hour minimum, 40-hour preferred)

Preferred Education, Skills & Experience:
• Workplace ergonomics and injury prevention
• Proven presentation/public speaking experience
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and recordkeeping skills
• Approachable personality, willingness to help people, and confidence to intervene/provide feedback to employees regarding safe behaviors
• Attention to detail
• Proven good work ethic
• Willingness to learn
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• CPR/First Aid/AED training

This role is well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As an EHS Professional, you will be responsible for:
• Conducting both proactive and reactive ergonomic assessments
• Conducting department safety walkthroughs and safety reviews of new equipment
• Conducting incident/injury investigations
• Assisting with EHS Management System programs and processes
• Assisting with the Site’s Hazardous and Biological Waste programs, including:
• RCRA Main and Satellite Area Waste pickups and inspections
• Coordination of waste shipments
• Preparing waste for shipment to meet DOT requirements
• Bulk solvent waste pour-off (respirator use required – full facepiece with cartridge)
• Transport bulk hazardous waste totes 250+ gallons (forklift driving required)
• Preparing Controlled Substance waste for shipment to meet DEA requirement
• Assisting with the continuous improvement of the Site’s Safety & Health Management Culture initiatives
• Conducting environmental resource use monitoring/measuring
• Assisting with sustainability initiatives
• Assisting with response and tracking of actions stemming from EHS Incident reports
• Coordinating with vendors to maintain EHS equipment and facilities
• Conducting various trainings for all employees
• Preparing monthly EHS Scorecard updates
• Maintaining EHS records including SDS, chemical inventory, inspections, and training
• Maintaining department supply inventory
• Maintaining department equipment inspections
• Advising employees regarding EHS matters
• Performing other EHS duties as needed
