Job Description
Education/Experience:
• Successful completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program

Licensing/Certification Requirements:
• State of Nevada License in Radiology
• Valid American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Registered in Radiography
• National Certification in specialty area such as Computed Tomography or Angiography
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements:
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO DOCUMENT THE FOLLOWING:
• Valid State of Nevada License in Radiology;
• Valid American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) Registered in Computed Tomography;
• Previous 3 (three) years’ experience in performing CT exams in a Trauma setting and CT interventional exams on patients

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements:
Knowledge of:
• Procedures and protocols associated with area of assignment
• Specialized equipment used in area of assignment
• Radiography protocols and procedures
• Quality assurance and quality control measures
• Personal computers
• Anatomy and physiology of the human body
• Contrast application and contrast reaction symptoms
• Venipuncture techniques
• Department and hospital safety practices and principles
• Patient rights
• Age specific patient care practices
• Infection control policies and practices
• Handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials
• Department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures

Skill in:
• Utilizing computers and specialized application software for scanning and diagnostic evaluation
• Utilizing specialized equipment and techniques for diagnostic evaluation
• Applying aseptic techniques; positioning patients properly to maximize results
• Communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties
• Efficient, effective and safe use of equipment

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
• Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment
• Stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time
• Vision to read printed materials and VDT screens
• Hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone
• Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
