Job Description
***Only qualified Network Engineer located near the Columbia SC area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence***
Required Skills:
• Minimum 5 to 10 years Networking experience
• 5+ plus years of experience within network infrastructure server, and system administration operations
• Ability to design, configure and manage configurations within the SolarWinds environment
• Ability to design, configure and manage Palo Alto Firewalls
• Ability to design, configure, and manage configurations within the SolarWinds environment
• Ability to assign appropriate priorities to work activities based on organizational goals and situational pressures
• Ability to work on multiple network projects concurrently and sometimes independently
• Knowledge of F5 Load-Balancers
• Deep understanding of networking protocols and networking software/hardware
Networking Skills:
• Cisco Firewalls Yes (4-6 Years)
• Cisco VPN (4-6 Years)
• Cisco Hardware Administration (4-6 Years)
• Cisco Quality of Service (QoS) (4-6 Years)
• Cisco Routers (4-6 Years)
• Cisco Switches (4-6 Years)
• DNS (4-6 Years)
• Knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP, NTP, DNS, MLLP, NDM (4-6 Years)

Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of CISCO devices
• Experience with Infoblox DNS IPAM DHCP NTP
• HIPAA CDC and other network infrastructure and server framework
• Experience with NAC appliances (ISE and Forescout preferred)
• Experience with Infoblox DNS IPAM DHCP NTP SolarWinds
Job Responsibilities:
• Configure and install network hardware and software to meet agency and industry standards
• Configure SolarWinds NPM NCM and Server/Application Monitor to meet application team’s requirements
• Maintain the entire Orion platform as a SME performing patches when deemed necessary
• Reviews network changes and trends to forecast future needs while determining and correcting complex network problems
• Provide network design recommendations and solutions to network problems while determining feasibility cost equipment needs and time constraints/allocations for assigned projects
• Assist in the development of strategic direction of the network infrastructure for both the current environment and potential future environment
• Travel to different CLIENT offices throughout the state to provide network configuration implementation, and maintenance on the CLIENT network infrastructure
• Make recommendations on specific improvements in network efficiency and effectiveness using network diagrams and reports for I/O Leadership
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues with emphasis in Routing DNS URL-Filtering and IPSEC VPN tunnels
• Experience maintaining the SolarWinds Orion platform
• Extensive experience with configuring and installing Palo Alto network firewalls and software to meet agency and industry standards
• Detailed at analyzing network efficiency across the entire agency network
• Constantly reviewing network changes and trends to forecast future needs while determining and correcting complex network problems to regional offices.
• Ability to provide network design recommendations and solutions to network problems while determining feasibility cost equipment needs and time constraints/allocations for assigned projects
• Providing backup support with development of strategic direction of the network infrastructure for the network environment
