Job Description
***This hybrid position requires working remotely and, in the Nashville, TN office. Travel to the central office in Nashville is non-reimbursable. The position is renewable through September 2027***



Description:

• The Client is hiring a Program Director for the Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Surveillance Program. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the program, grant and budget and ensuring that planned activities are implemented.

• The NAS Surveillance Program was established in 2013 when NAS was added to reportable disease list. In 2023 the program was awarded a 4-year Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) grant titled Pregnant People-Infant Linked Longitudinal Surveillance.

• The program has three main goals: 1) to expand surveillance capacity; 2) improve care coordination for infants and pregnant and postpartum people affected by substance use; and 3) collaborate with partners to improve the system of care for infants with NAS and their families.



Key Job Responsibilities:

• Lead weekly team meetings

• Attend and represent the team during all meetings with CDC and other awarded jurisdictions

• Attend and represent during Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologist (CSTE) NAS surveillance workgroup meetings

• Oversee the completion of all grant deliverables and manage the grant budget

• Actively participate in strategic planning for the program

• Work with the team to develop reports and disseminate findings to leadership and partners

• Keep up-to-date on NAS surveillance best practices and identify opportunities to learn from partners and other jurisdictions participating in NAS surveillance and research

• Identify opportunities for the NAS team to share data and program findings at conferences and through manuscript development
