Job Description
Must-Have Skills
1. Experience developing taxonomies, thesauri, or ontologies.
2. Experiencing researching and defining taxonomy and ontology node metadata based on existing standards.
3. Strong ownership and ability to self-start, build relationships with partners, and develop a point of view.
Nice-to-have Skills
1. Experience communicating and presenting taxonomy principles and standards.
2. Experience work semaphore taxonomy tool.
3. Experience with LLMs to test classification.

Degrees/Certifications Required: Bachelor’s degree is required
Summary:
We are looking for a Taxonomist to support research, data analysis, design, and implementation of taxonomies to support Reality Labs and Content Understanding for the Taxonomy team at Client. The crux of this contract will be working with other Taxonomists to support data analysis, taxonomy enrichment, taxonomy design, and implementation.
Job Responsibilities:
Detailed data analysis (Excel, Google Sheets or scripting languages) to identify Client data trends, potential taxonomy quality issues
Research (both internal and external) to enrich node Client data
Proactive status reporting on progress, questions, issues, or potential opportunity areas with partners and stakeholders
Implementation based on taxonomy governance guidelines
Minimum Requirements:
2+ years of experience in developing taxonomies/or ontologies to support a variety of systems both for front-end and back-end use.
Experience developing taxonomies, thesauri, or ontologies.
Experiencing researching and defining taxonomy and ontology node Client data based on existing standards
Experience with a variety of topic/domain types
Experience communicating and presenting taxonomy principles and standards.
Strong ownership and ability to self-start, build relationships with partners, and develop a point of view
Strong ability to proactively communicate about projects and workstreams
Strong affinity for detail-oriented taxonomy development work
Strong collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in developing taxonomies/or ontologies
Master’s degree in library science, Information Management or Linguistics
Experience with taxonomy or ontology management software (semaphore preferred but not required)
Extensive experience with Excel or Google Sheets - **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**
