Position’s Contributions to Work Group:



- Development of engaging and effective training content with specific focus on graphic design.

- Work closely with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and other team members to design, develop, and delivery high- quality instructional materials that meet the learning objectives of Caterpillar programs and courses.

- Apply a creative approach to instructional design which helps enhance the overall learning experience for users.



Typical task breakdown:

- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to analyze learning needs and design effective instructional solutions.

- Develop instructional materials, including e-learning courses, videos, simulations, and other interactive content.

- Use instructional design principles to create engaging and interactive learning experiences that promote knowledge retention and skill development.

- Design assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of learning materials and make improvements as needed.

- Stay current on instructional design trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve the quality of our learning programs.

- Work closely with multimedia developers, graphic designers, and other team members to produce high-quality learning materials.

- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Education & Experience Required:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field strongly preferred.

- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in instructional design required.

- Master’s or above internship experience will be considered if specifically focused on instructional design only. Other education experience will not be considered.

- Experience working in a corporate training or educational setting.

- Portfolio will be requested for any candidate selected to interview.



Technical Skills

Required)



- Proficiency with instructional design tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.

- Solid understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models (ex – ADDIE, SAM)

- Experience with eLearning Authoring

- Training and teaching skills

- Computer proficiency including: * Knowledge of Photoshop, Microsoft Office software and Dreamweaver * Fundamental understanding of HTML

- Audio and video editing skills

- Understanding of Adult Learning design, needs analysis, etc.

- Strong Project Management skills
