Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Hands on experience with Used Car refurbishment / reconditioning process.

• Understands the value of repairs and reconditioning of used cars to Used Car sales price.

• Hands on experience at a Used Car operation, such as at CarMax or Carvana or similar Used Car sales environment and involved in the decision-making process to prepare a Used Car for sale

• Knowledge about vehicle auction process and valuation of Used Cars.

• Detailed oriented to track and record vehicle reconditioning items and costs, to create usable dataset for future business planning.

• Must have “can-do-attitude”, be proactive and willing to learn for those looking to make a transition to a planning role.

• Documentation to be created mainly in PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

Job Overview:

The individual is the subject matter expert on creating a Used Car refurbishment / reconditioning program, including clearly identifying required repair / reconditioning menu and the value it brings to the Used Car price. This includes developing an operational flow that can be tested and scaled in the future. Used Car Refurbishment Specialist will work with project lead as well as management and business development teams to execute on assigned projects.



Job Duties:

• Contribute to the identification of target vehicles to establish a model specific Used Car refurbishment / reconditioning program for both vehicle cosmetics and mechanical conditions.

• Conduct hands-on research and analysis of vehicle refurbishment / reconditioning menu.

• Conduct cost / benefit analysis and recommendation of refurbishment / reconditioning menu and the projected value-add to the retail price of the Used Car.

• Create a vehicle refurbishment manual to standardize the approved menu – cosmetic

• reconditioning and mechanical reconditioning tasks.

• Record and track all activities and create detailed and summarized reports and documentation.

• Contributes to identify key elements (e.g., capabilities, resources) necessary to successfully commercialize the products and services including go-to-market strategies.
